Ever suffered a wound that was painful? How did you feel? Now imagine someone suffering that wound on your behalf. How would you feel about their suffering? Because that is exactly what Jesus did for us. The Bible says in Isaiah 53:5 that, ' He was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace and we received healing from his wounds.' Isaiah 53:5 — God's Word Translation (GW) When man rebelled against God and sinned, God sent Jesus to correct the consequences of our sins. He did this out of the love he has for us. See Genesis 3:1-7 for more on man’s sins. It's why Jesus came to earth to die for our sins and it's why the Bible says in John 3:16 that, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." John 3:16 — New Revised Standard Version: Updated Edition (NRSVue) God's offer is still available and his door will always be open as long as you have breath. All you need to do is to walk through it. How? By accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. As we celebrate Easter this year, let's remember what Jesus did and take full advantage of the opportunity he has given us to achieve eternal life with God. Happy Easter! Stay blessed and keep on going.
