E is for Eternity, in celebration of God's gift of salvation to us through Jesus Christ.  In John 17:3, the bible says of God's gift to us,

'Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.'
- John. 17:3, NIV -

This is why Easter is so significant and why we celebrate it. It's a reminder of God's love, mercy and penultimate sacrifice for us, so that we can gain eternal life. In Romans 3:23, the Bible says,

'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.'

Everyone of us have sinned and the Bible says in Romans 6:23 that,

'The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'

As we celebrate Easter sharing meals, food and gifts with loved ones, let's not forget to break bread in remembrance of Jesus who,

Took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Jesus commanded us to commemorate his death and there is no better time than Easter to remember his crucifixion. That is, the point at which he gave his life for us so that we can live on eternally with God the Father.

Happy Easter to those who have found Christ, to those who are seeking to know him and to those who are yet to gain salvation. This is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ: "He died for our sins so that we don't have to die in sin, but to live to give God the glory."

Ever suffered a wound that was painful? How did you feel? Now imagine someone suffering that wound on your behalf. How would you feel about their suffering? Because that is exactly what Jesus did for us. The Bible says in Isaiah 53:5 that,

' He was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace and we received healing from his wounds.'
Isaiah 53:5 — God's Word Translation (GW)

When man rebelled against God and sinned, God sent Jesus to correct the consequences of our sins. He did this out of the love he has for us. See Genesis 3:1-7 for more on man’s sins.

It's why Jesus came to earth to die for our sins and it's why the Bible says in John 3:16 that,

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."

God's offer is still available and his door will always be open as long as you have breath. All you need to do is to walk through it. How? By accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. 

As we celebrate Easter this year, let's remember what Jesus did and take full advantage of the opportunity he has given us to achieve eternal life with God.

The issue is not so much that time is going fast, the real issue is the state of our hearts towards God. There are many falsehoods being generated about Christ's coming but truth is, no one knows when he will be coming. Jesus himself said this:
"At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."
-Matthew 24:23-24, NIV-

But what we do know  according to Jesus' words in Matthew 24:36 is this:
“About that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

And there will be signs to warn us, so that we can prepare for his coming. The Bible says:
"For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened."
-Matthew 24:22, NIV- 

So, when we see time flashing past and we are trying to play catch-up, thank the Lord for his mercy. The mercy of shortened days, so that his word can come to pass. His word says:
"Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."

Let's think about it!

As we celebrate mother's day, let's not forget to appreciate those who have helped make the motherhood role that much easier. Even Jesus understood the importance of community. That was why, when he was crucified and was about to die he handed his mother over to his disciple to care for her. The Bible says in John 29:26-27 that, when Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home (John 19:27).

How many people write a thank you note to their parents, their siblings, their loved ones, their educators or to their youth and community workers? In a time where we easily find faults, we have become accustomed to seeing what is wrong instead of seeking out the good. No man is truly an island. So, as we celebrate mother's day, let's not forget to appreciate those who have helped made the role of motherhood that much easier. 

"What can't be cured must be endured."
This is one of mum's popular sayings. With this saying, she taught us resilience, patience, perseverance and showed us how to keep it moving against all odds.

These words have stood the test of time. Just like the legacy she left for us and others to follow.

It's interesting how a word can mean different things to different people. Just like this image I came across around town. I'm not going to go into details as I've been collecting these images for a while. What I will say is that it got me thinking about the word salvation. To think that in the Secular world salvation means to be saved from loss, danger or harm. Whilst in Christianity it means to be saved from the wages of sin by Jesus Christ. Sin is harmful, dangerous and could lead to loss of salvation. Which means, not having the opportunity to live with God eternally. The Bible says that we:

‘All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’
- Romans 3:23, NIV -

Simply put, no one is sin free. It’s why we need Jesus!  So, I thought, if the bottled product in this poster could be subliminally touted as a possible solution to someone's struggles, how about Jesus? He is not a limited resource that needs topping-up. His support goes beyond our earthly existence and takes us into eternity. Isn't that worth considering?

The Bible says that:
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Why not consider Jesus who said:

“Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

- John 4:14, NKJV -

His words are definitely worth thinking about.
